DC animated movie ideas/Superman live action idea

Following the release of the "Superman-Batman Public Enemies" animated movie this fall, DC Comics plans on releasing "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths" next spring.
Following those, what I would like to see is DC produce "Secret Identity."
Remember the comic book miniseries on this a few years ago? It was one of the best comic books ever and would make a great animated movie!
Here are some other worthy ideas for animated productions:
-Superman Red Son.
-Another Elseworld tale: "Speeding Bullets," where Superman grows up in the Wayne family of Gotham City.
DC never seems to strictly follow what the comic book did and so there would always be surprise plot developments in these productions.
Also, DC Comics/Warner Brothers has now said it has NO current plans for a new Superman live action movie. So, apparently animation is all we get for some years to come ....
If DC ever does re-start Superman years down the road, it may be wise to re-boot it from square one. That baggage of Superman having a son in "Superman Returns" was just awful and needs to be completely eliminated!
Since most people have heard of Superman's origin, I'd do a quick re-tell in a future movie and then spend more time on him growing up on Earth.
My best idea for a movie conflict would be to have Brainiac threaten Earth. (Too much Lex Luthor in past movies.)
But a new movie having 20 minutes of Superman doing little rescues and saves -- before the big conflict -- would also be great.

  1. I think an animated film based on Secret Identity is a great idea. (Even better, if it were made into a live action mini-series.)

Thanks to your generosity I've read Secret Identity. At the time I truly felt DC was completely incapable of producing a decent Superman comic of any noteworthy quality.

And then I read Secret Identity.

You are absolutely correct in calling it one of the best comic books ever. An adaptation to animation, (preferably with a run time long enough to encompass the story in a worthwhile manner) would really be nice. I'd definitely buy it,(And I'm not one to buy these animated DVD's)

As far as the reboot of Superman on the big screen, that's a sure thing according to Warner President Jeff Robinov. No hint of Superman Returns will remain. The biggest question is "when".

Legal issues has tabled any prospect for a future film for the foreseeable future.

But when it does happen, I'm not completely sold on Brainiac. I really want to see Superman slug it out with someone that'll tax his abilities and give him a run for his money.

The fight scenes in Superman 2 were really "light" and not exactly what I'm looking for. I wanna see a real throw down.

You see them quite a bit in the animated films and series, but we haven't had a real brawl in a Superman film yet. (I'm talking about a bigger battle than the evil Superman versus Clark of Superman 3)

They have the technology now for FX to give audiences a real crowd pleaser of a fight, and that's what I'd like to see.

So who would the villain be? Someone from established Superman mythology, or a new character?
